My friend Nick Cope and I are super excited to have recently completed a mural installation in collaboration with our favorite boutique, Opening Ceremony. It was a crazy job. We could only work when the store was closed so I worked from 7pm to 4am for a week straight, all the while surrounded by Rodarte, Rachel Comey, and Band of Outsiders a few inches from my paintbrush.

(click here for a ton of photos of the project)

The mural features an abstracted city, comprised of various blocks which grow and tumble playfully along two opposing fifty foot walls. There are a variety of hand painted patterns inspired by some of this seasons prints (I threw a little Kenzo and Comey reference in the mix), some insider jokes (there is an ankh for my mom who is an egyptologist, some astrological elements, and textile designs from a variety of international sources.

Farrow and Ball were kind enough to give us amazing paint to work with, the OC staff were so generous with their help, friendship, birthday cupcakes, and ping pong matches. And special thanks to Nick for his hard work and driving abilities!
