I created this most recent collage without much thought. But the longer I look at it, the more I see a narrative at work. One of a sexually liberated sixties female, in total ecstasy. Her pose and the vivid blossoming floral arrangement is in stark contrast to the buttoned-up repressed fifties housewife, trapped inside the tv, potted plant atop. Sexual liberation anyone? She’s in bloom.

These collages were created using floral imagery from the internet and various models snatched from one of my favorite websites, Into the Gloss. They were created for our Nylon pitch. Though they weren’t created as art, I felt like sharing. Arizona Muse is such a babe, and who doesn’t like flowers?

Here’s another collage I made recently at the Oracle Club. It’s part of a diptych exploring positive and negative space through various black and white textures and amorphous shapes.
Cool! Two of my designs are featured on these iphone cases produced by Casemate and Society 6. Winning members of the Art Director’s Club Young Guns were asked to submit graphics and these are two I chose.  Click the picture to see them or the other products I’ve created, like laptop cases and prints.
I like to cart these around for those moments when someone asks me what I do… I just flash my phone rather than fumbling for the right words.
Here’s my collage that I created at Tuesday night’s collage party at the Oracle Club last week. Located in Long Island City, Jenna Gribbon and Julian Tepper’s space functions as a salon and modern workspace for artists and writers. Each week my former studiomate Caris Reid holds a “class” with changing themes, supplies, and lots of wine. This coming Tuesday will be about “Iconoclasts” while previous themes focused on “spirit animals” and the “Exquisite Corpse” game.
Check out the other classes The Oracle Club has to offer here.

Tonight is the release party and doggy fashion show in honor of the VICE Fashion Issue. I’ll be going to support my friend Olivia’s puppy, Lula, who will be walking in full on bondage and because I have two collages in Ben and Anette’s funny editorial.
Here’s a cover shot of one of the brave models in leather and you can find my backgrounds on pages 71 and 79… that is if you can get a hold of the magazine.
PS: is it just me, or is the model in the first shot channeling Cher Horowitz in that blouse?
